This year, RevUnit will have extra reason to celebrate National Small Business Week. Co-founders Joe Saumweber, CEO, and Michael Paladino, CTO, have been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as the 2018 Small Business Persons of the Year for the state of Arkansas.
Joe and Michael have been invited to join the winners from each state at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. next month kicking off National Small Business Week, where they will be honored with their individual awards. At that time, the SBA will also announce special recognition for the 2018 national winner and three runners-up for 2018.
“Joe and Michael are incredibly deserving of this award,” said Seth Waite, RevUnit’s Chief Growth Officer. “Their efforts to grow a thriving company and work culture have been amazing. Together, they’ve built a company that has averaged a 95% growth rate year over year for the last 5 years! All the while keeping a retention rate of 97%.”
Seth added, “RevUnit is what it is today because of the leadership, outstanding character, and culture-focused ownership of Joe Saumweber and Michael Paladino.”
“It’s an honor to be selected alongside such inspiring American entrepreneurs,” Saumweber said of the recognition. “This award reflects the hard work of our team and the support of the Northwest Arkansas startup community as we’ve lived out our mission to help millions #WorkBetter through technology. We’re incredibly grateful for so many who have made RevUnit what it is today.”
In a statement announcing the honorees from each state, SBA Administrator Linda McMahon elaborated on what the award signifies: “These small business owners define entrepreneurial spirit and best represent the 30 million small businesses that are the backbone and economic engine of our economy. I look forward to welcoming the winners to Washington next month when they are officially honored for their achievements.”
Since 1963, National Small Business Week has sought each year to recognize the contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. For the full list of the SBA’s 2018 Small Business Persons of the Year, check out the official SBA announcement of this year’s winners.
